*2 cups of all purpose flour
*1 cup of whole wheat flour
*1/2 cup of molasses
*1/2 cup of water
*1/4 cup of canola oil
*2 tablespoons of fresh ground ginger
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves

Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl. Roll out dough on floured baking board to about 1/2" thick. Cut with cookies cutters into shapes or into squares with a paring knife. Place cut dough on ungreased foiled baking sheets. Bake the cookies for 30 minutes.

Allow cookies to cool for at least 2 hours before serving. If you prefer crunchy cookies, leave them in the oven overnight to harden.
